The National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) received in-kind assistance in the form of a complete family package worth IDR 369,500,000 from MR.DIY Indonesia, to be distributed to beneficiaries (mustahik). The symbolic handover of in-kind assistance was received by the Deputy Chairperson of BAZNAS RI H. Mokhamad Mahdum, MIDEC, AK, CA, CPA, CWM, CGRCOP, GRCE, CHRP, Head of BAZNAS RI for Distribution and Empowerment Saidah Sakwan MA., and Head of Legal MR.DIY Indonesia, Rian Mochtar Aziz, at the BAZNAS RI Building, Jakarta, Wednesday (3/4/2024).
Deputy Chairman of BAZNAS RI H. Mokhamad Mahdum, MIDEC, AK, CA, CPA, CWM, CGRCOP, GRCE, CHRP, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the donation distributed by MR.DIY Indonesia through BAZNAS for the underprivileged community. "Thank you for the assistance in the form of goods, hopefully this will be useful, not only for the community in need but also for MR.DIY Indonesia," said Mo Mahdum.
Mo Mahdum explained that zakat is not only to provide benefits for those in need. But, he continued, it is a way for zakat givers to release Allah's trust to those who should receive it. ""We, as an official institution for managing people's funds, ensure that all entrusted funds will be managed in accordance with the 3A principles, namely Safe Syar'i, Safe Regulation, and Safe NKRI," he said.
Mo Mahdum hopes that more people and corporations will be moved to pay zakat, infak, and sedekah, so that they can help those in need. ""With proper management, this community fund, God willing, will be a blessing for all of us, especially in this holy month of Ramadan," he hoped.
Meanwhile, Head of Legal MR.DIY Indonesia, Rian Mochtar Aziz hopes that the donations distributed can help BAZNAS in organizing Ramadan programs. ""As a store that is known to be economical, complete, and located close by, MR.DIY always tries to provide convenience and happiness for Indonesian families. Hopefully this assistance will bring benefits and happiness and can be distributed properly by BAZNAS, so that it can help people who are in need, especially in this month of Ramadan,"" said Rian.
Rian expressed his gratitude and appreciation to BAZNAS for accepting the distribution of this donation and being responsible for delivering it to the entitled community. ""Thank you to BAZNAS for being willing to help us distribute the donations we provide to the entitled and needy community, we hope to continue working together in the years to come," he added.
Rian explained that the MR.DIY in-kind assistance was given in the form of 1000 family equipment packages containing clothes brushes, notebooks, spatulas, jeep toys, screwdrivers, stationery, wall clocks, hand towels, pencil cases, drinking bottles, lunch boxes, container boxes. "We are currently preparing 1000 packages containing MR.DIY tools or equipment for families in need," he concluded.
